2012= In the Studio w MathGames! + World Tour Dates in Europe & South America

In January 2012, Greg Fundis will be recording tracks at IV Lab Studios in Chicago working with engineer/producer Rollin Weary on the upcoming MathGames! debut studio album feat. Fareed Haque, Alex Austin and other special guests. Take a listen to a pre-released track "Trimodal"  recently featured in Relix Magazine. 

Just announced!!!!. . .In Summer of 2012, Greg Fundis will be touring with Fareed Haque's MathGames! and Flat Earth Ensemble as they combine forces for performances that include Twents Guitar Festival in Enshede, Netherlands and "Festival de Jazz en La Patagonia" in Chile featuring other notable musicians such as Paquito D'Rivera.   Fareed's ensemble for these tours will include music from both groups and feature tabla phenom Salar Nader and Bengali vocalist Nirmalya Roy.

MathGames! West Coast Tour Re-cap

Greg Fundis recently returned from the MathGames! West Coast tour which included debut shows in Boulder, L.A. and San Francisco.  Thanks to all the fans who came out to represent as well as video and audio tapers who were en masse at each show!  Big thanks to our visualist Craig Pessolano for debuting our new CO2 sphere projections and Stacy Blanc road mgr for keepin' it all together. MathGames! West Coast + Colorado Tour Dates Announced

Fresh from their appearance at the historic MOOGFest, MathGames! featuring Greg Fundis on drums, Fareed Haque on guitar, Alex Austin on bass and Craig Pessolano on visuals would like to thank Brian Eno, EOTO, MOOGFest production staff and all the fans who represented for our debut at this amazing electronic-focused music festival.  Also, thanks to Paul Vo of MOOG and Billy Cardine for the epic after-jam at the MOOG factory! Greg Fundis U.S. and International Tour Dates with Fareed Haque's MathGames

The first half of 2011 has been an exciting launchpad for the new group MathGames, a festival-friendly jazztronica trio which features world renowned guitarist Fareed Haque, heavy-hitting Chicago bass mainstay Alex Austin and Greg Fundis on acoustic drums,electronic drums and samples.  Fareed Haque's MathGames debuted to rave reviews in its home town of Chicago at the Mayne Stage Theater.  Check out the video clips of the band and one of Greg Fundis' extended solos. . .

 

In March 2011, MathGames performed for thousands of fans abroad in Jakarta, Indonesia at the Axis Java Jazz Festival along side great artists such as Santana, George Benson and Joey DeFrancesco.  Here's a few pictures from the voyage. . .

The late night jam sessions at Hotel Borobudur in Jakarta were epic.  Hours and hours of late night fun attracted musicians like Steve Smith, Zap Mama, the Afro-Cuban all stars, Daniel Amat and members of Santana's band to participate in these memorable moments.

Here's a clip of George Benson running the session with Greg Fundis on drums, Kai Eckhardt on bass, Roy Hargrove and Maurice Brown on trumpet and many other great musicians performing "This Masquerade". . .

 

May 27 and 28, 2011 found Fareed Haque's MathGames and Flat Earth Ensemble joining forces for 2 standing room only shows at Chicago's famed Green Mill.

 

MathGames will be busy displaying their new exciting music to the masses throughout the rest of 2011 with performances at national festivals throughout the summer, tours of the West Coast in July and the East Coast in September, dates in British Columbia, Canada and then an international tour which brings the band to Colombo, Sri Lanka and Calcutta, India and other locations TBA in October.  For more details, check out Greg Fundis' SHOWS page and MathGames facebook fan page
