Here’s a bit of BACKSTORY: In mid-March, Chris Mathien came by my drum studio at Music Garage in Chicago to record me playing various extended drum grooves and improvisations. We experimented with a variety of tempos, floor toms, ankle bells on the hi hat, an ocean drum and various towels on the snare to achieve fun & unique sounds. In the following weeks, Mathien fashioned some truly amazing songs based on these raw drum takes which evolved into his most recent full length album.
