Greg Fundis U.S. and International Tour Dates with Fareed Haque's MathGames

GREG FUNDIS

The first half of 2011 has been an exciting launchpad for the new group MathGames, a festival-friendly jazztronica trio which features world renowned guitarist Fareed Haque, heavy-hitting Chicago bass mainstay Alex Austin and Greg Fundis on acoustic drums, electronic drums and samples.  Fareed Haque's MathGames debuted to rave reviews in its home town of Chicago at the Mayne Stage Theater.  Check out the video clips of the band and one of Greg Fundis' extended solos. . .

In March 2011, MathGames performed for thousands of fans abroad in Jakarta, Indonesia at the Axis Java Jazz Festival along side great artists such as Santana, George Benson and Joey DeFrancesco.  Here's a few pictures from the voyage. . .

The late night jam sessions at Hotel Borobudur in Jakarta were epic.  Hours and hours of late night fun attracted musicians like Steve Smith, Zap Mama, the Afro-Cuban all stars, Daniel Amat and members of Santana's band to participate in these memorable moments.

Here's a clip of George Benson running the session with Greg Fundis on drums, Kai Eckhardt on bass, Roy Hargrove and Maurice Brown on trumpet and many other great musicians performing "This Masquerade". . .

May 27 and 28, 2011 found Fareed Haque's MathGames and Flat Earth Ensemble joining forces for 2 standing room only shows at Chicago's famed Green Mill.

MathGames will be busy displaying their new exciting music to the masses throughout the rest of 2011 with performances at national festivals throughout the summer, tours of the West Coast in July and the East Coast in September, dates in British Columbia, Canada and then an international tour which brings the band to Colombo, Sri Lanka and Calcutta, India and other locations TBA in October.  For more details, check out Greg Fundis' SHOWS page and MathGames facebook fan page
